Over the course of most of this summer, thinking about the season 3 finale of Fringe has caused a mental condition most accurately described as silent screaming. Following the dimension-hopping second season finale, viewers were left with the knowledge that our FBI heroine, Olivia Dunham (Anna Torv), had been replaced with her alternate universe double. Agent Dunham also learns that what happened may have been part of a much larger pattern of strange phenomena. An FBI agent experiencing huge pain is brought to a hospital where it is discovered that there is a strange parasite wrapped around his heart. Luckily, before I even knew the outcome of the game, I'd planned a healthy serving of dish for you.

Season 1 introduces the Fringe Division as they investigate cases that form "the Pattern", many orchestrated by an international network of rogue scientists, known as ZFT (Zerst?rung durch Fortschritte der Technologie, or in English, Destruction through Advancement of Technology), who are preparing for a doomsday event. The good news about the World Series airing on Friday would be that it could be a huge blow to the season premiere of NBC's Grimm (i.e. the competition). The World Series has been pulling in over 14 million viewers vs. the usual 3 million for Fringe. When Olivia finally fights her way back to this dimension, and Fauxlivia is returned to hers, her innate distrust is heightened by Peter's unintended betrayal, putting extra stress on their working relationship while Walter tries to play matchmaker.

Secretary of Defense and has set events in motion to assemble a doomsday device that reacts only to Peter's biology. He also sent his Olivia, "Fauxlivia", to the prime universe in Olivia's place, to engage the Fringe Division and assemble the prime universe's version of the device, while he studies Olivia's Cortexiphan-induced powers. Much of the story arc for Fringe involves a parallel universe that mostly mirrors the prime universe, but with numerous historical idiosyncrasies. The producers were strongly interested in "world building", and the parallel universe plot device allowed them to create a very similar world with a large amount of detail to fill in the texture of the world. In the Fall Finale, Olivia and Lincoln (Seth Gabel) take drastic measures to deal with the looming threat from the translucent shapeshifters, while helping Peter find his way home. Something "over there" occurs that hasn't happened since the universes were linked at the end of last season.

When a woman bursts into flames and explodes, Olivia and Peter start to look into it, and Olivia starts seeing things -- which Walter explains as possibly her seeing an alternate reality. Anna Torv was a busy little spoiler monkey when she sat down DigitalSpy. Amongst other things she revealed that Olivia WILL rock the boat where knowledge of Peter is concerned; the episode 'Peter' will give the entire backstory to Walter's interdimensional kidnapping of the lad; and - GASP! - that they have not yet discussed season 3! The glyph code was cracked by an editor at the technology site Ars Technica, who discovered it to be a simple substitution cipher used to spell out a single thematic word for each episode.Whether there is a further second-order code to be solved remains to be seen. Additionally, the glyphs are representative of some of the means by which Walter solves a case (the Moth/Butterfly from "Johari Window", the Seahorse strain of DNA from "The Bishop Revival"). The difference in color has led some fans to call the prime universe the Blue one in contrast to the Red parallel one. In the third season episode "Entrada", the titles used a mix of both the blue- and red-tinted versions, given the episode taking place equally in both universes.

Cast: Anna Torv as Olivia Dunham; Joshua Jackson as Peter Bishop; John Noble as Walter Bishop; Lance Reddick as Phillip Broyles; Blair Brown as Nina Sharp; Jasika Nicole as Astrid Farnsworth; Seth Gabel as Lincoln Lee It's a very nuanced setting, and that makes the conflict between the two sides all the more gripping. She enlists the help of Nate McAuley, a private investigator who works with the FBI and seems to have a past as shadowy as Peter's. And like Peter, Nate also has a mentally ill genius in the family - his brother Owen. Sonia, a rookie agent, whose prior work experience includes six years in the Detroit police department, soon finds herself dealing with Division 99, an organization Nate describes as the "dark pernicious armpit of the physical universe." Yes, all of the little bits and pieces come into place - especially regarding the whole question of "When is Peter Bishop going to make an appearance?" This is also one of the first times that John [Noble, Walter] and I have had a whole bunch of stuff to do together.

Recuperating from the traumatic and alarming meeting with Massive Dynamic founder William Bell, Agent Dunham consumes a powerful "fringe" concoction that Dr. Bishop prescribes to stimulate her memory. Olivia finally opens herself up to letting Peter into her life. And Broyles (Lance Reddick) has come face to face with his own corpse from the other universe -- and learns that the other Broyles had kept his wife and family. I fully expect him to leave this plane of existence for the other one at some point in the future. As the investigation unfolds, Walter heads back to the lab while Olivia, Peter and Broyles race against time when they realize the case has ties to a threatening organization. This six-disc collection includes a number of bonus features, found on Disc 5 and 6. On Disc 5, the focus is on the Lysergic Acid Diethylamide episode by way of an audio commentary track on the episode, as well as a making-of featurette that details the process and the pressure of accomplishing the animation.

Equally as perplexing as her resurrection is that she is now somehow able to speak Russian and possesses classified information only a high-ranking soldier would know. Walter struggles with life outside the lab as he comes face-to-face with the demons of his past. As the Fringe team assembles at the bizarre crime scene, Peter remains suspicious that something is amiss with Walter, who is struggling to keep the unimaginable a secret. When the investigation leads them to Alistair Peck, a very powerful man who has tremendous energy with severe consequences, an ironic set of circumstances surface While Walter deals with some very upsetting news, he tells Olivia's niece, Ella, a fairy tale that includes musical performances by Olivia and Agent Broyles. The alternate universe Fringe Division investigates a shocking breach of security when a twin frees his brother from a quarantined Amber area. When a scientist falls dead after ingesting a lethal cloud of blue powder and his bones disintegrate in his body, the CDC suspects a biological attack.
