We are keeping our purses tighter than ever at present and are wary of how we spend our marketing budgets to get the best return for our time and investment.
So, my advice in this article is to networking to grow your business. If you want to keep building your brand you understand there will be times when you have to shell out for coffee and spend your other greatest asset time to get to know other business owners you can trust and preferably work with (especially If they share your sense of humour ).
It is your business after all. If you were going to take your business out on a date, you wouldnt just take them anywhere an with anyone. Your business definitely deserves quality and decent company. Agree? So, moral of this is to spend your time and effort getting to know people in your locality you can do business with and who will ultimately help you build your company and your reputation.
You cant just trust people over the phone or over one meeting during coffee hour. Relationships and trust take time (too much time in some cases!). But surely that time and commitment is worth it if in the long run youre getting at least a bit of a good return. To me, thats the first piece of Lego to my empire.
Together we can fight this recession, it will be the business owners who do not get out and meet others, who do not build relationships and who let their marketing strategy flounder during these tough times who fail.
