Legend Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace would be the first of a trilogy connected with stories to trace what happened within the intergalactic saga before the primary film began. Here, Obi-Wan Kenobi (Ewan McGregor) is really a young apprentice Jedi knight underneath the tutelage of Qui-Gon Jinn (Liam Neeson); Anakin Skywalker (Mike Lloyd), who will later father Luke Skywalker and turn into known as Darth Vader, is just a nine-year-old son. When the Trade Federation pieces off all routes towards the planet Naboo, Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan are assigned to settle the matter, but when they arrive on Naboo they may be brought to Amidala (Natalie Portman), the Naboo queen, by a friendly nevertheless opportunistic Gungan named Vessel Jar. Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan plan to escort Amidala to a meeting of Republic leaders with Coruscant, but trouble with their own spacecraft strands them on earth Tatooine, where Qui-Gon meets Anakin, the slave of any scrap dealer. Qui-Gon is soon persuaded that the boy would be the leader the Jedis have been searching for, and he begins bargaining for his freedom and teaching the boy the lessons of the Force. The supporting cast incorporates Pernilla August as Anakin's new mother, Terence Stamp as Chancellor Valorum, and Samuel L. Jackson as Jedi get good at Mace Windu. Jackson told a reporter ahead of the Phantom Menace's release that this best part about undertaking the film was that she got to say "May the Force be with you" onscreen.

Set against the thrilling and exotic backdrop of your "galaxy far, far away, " Star Wars is perfectly worthy of the immersive 3D theatrical experience, and 'Episode I' delivers many of the Saga's most stunning and spectacular sequences - through the Naboo invasion to the Tatooine Podraces towards climactic lightsaber battle between Darth Maul and also the Jedi.

Supervised by Industrial Light-weight & Magic, the meticulous conversion is being done with utmost respect with the source material, and with an eager eye for both technical considerations and artistic purposes.

All three chapters in Lucas' Star Wars prequel trilogy feature a huge amount of digitally-created F/X, scenery, alien creatures, vehicles, etc.. and since computer-animated movies which can be converted into 3D often look decent enough, the post-production conversion with the Phantom Menace should actually be okay likewise.

The bigger issue is whether there are actually that many people who find themselves willing to cough in the cash to see The particular Phantom Menace in 3d. It's still by and large accepted as the weakest link inside the Star Wars franchise (and also considering fans' feelings about the prequels in general, that's saying something).
